Description
The farm buildings north of Wood Farmhouse date from the 18th century and consist of a threshing barn to the west and a linhay to the east. They are constructed from cob and stone rubble with corrugated asbestos roofs. The threshing barn has a hipped roof at the left end and a gabled roof at the right end, featuring two double doors on the front with cheeks. A small weatherboarded block at right angles to the barn between the entrances may have served as an engine house and likely dates after the barn. The adjoining linhay has a lower roofline and a hipped roof at the right end, comprising six bays supported by circular pillars. The pillars are made of stone rubble up to the level of the loft floor, with cob above. The loft is open, while the ground floor is weatherboarded and has plank doors. Inside, the barn features pegged apex roof trusses, which are likely from the 18th century.
