Description

Park Mill Bridge is a road bridge over the River Taw, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from local mudstone rubble and features squared but not ashlar voussoirs. The bridge has a small humpback shape and comprises a single segmental arch with voussoirs surrounding it. Originally, there was no parapet, but in the 20th century, timber railings were added to serve as a parapet. This type of small humpback bridge without parapets is both uncommon and attractive.
