Description

A range of three houses, originally probably two, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. The exterior is stuccoed, with a slate roof, gabled ends, and gable-end stacks. A lateral stack with brick shafts is located at the rear. The building has a plan involving three houses; No. 27 comprises two bays, No. 28 comprises three bays and is now subdivided, its right-hand bay being No. 29. The west front has two storeys and an attic, with a 2-bay west front extending to 3 bays. It features late 19th/early 20th century four-pane sash windows, a blind window on the first floor to the left, and a string course at first-floor cill level. There are two doorways, each with a flat canopy supported by shaped brackets, a rectangular overlight, and a six-panel door – No. 28’s door has fielded panels, and No. 27’s door has glazed top panels. Three flat-roofed dormers, each with two four-pane sashes, are present. The rear (east) elevation shows a projecting lateral stack at the centre with set-offs, casement windows, and a sash with glazing bars. A single-storey outshut is situated at the centre, and later 19th-century wings extend to the left and right. The interior has not been inspected.
