Description

Nos 37 and 38, including Nos 2 and 3, Hoods Buildings, are structures located on Fore Street in Topsham. They are likely from the 17th century, although the front has been rendered in the early 19th century. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic, and while most windows have been altered, some late Georgian sash windows remain. The front of No 38 has a hipped gable that projects out. There is a shop front, and the buildings have a slate roof with dormers, featuring old tarred slates at the rear. A notable chimney made of two-inch bricks is located at the north end. All the listed buildings on Fore Street are part of a group.
