Description

The British Legion, also known as the Old Independence Chapel, is a building dating from 1796, located on the site of the county gaol. It is constructed from Heavitree stone and has undergone significant alterations. The building features two bays at the ends and four bays along the sides, with two storeys. It includes round-headed windows and a dentil cornice, topped by a slate roof.
