Description

The Cloisters, located in Cathedral Close, dates to 1762. Approximately half the frontage is connected to a larger house and features a similar doorway, without stucco. The remaining portion incorporates remnants of the Cathedral Cloisters, which were demolished in the 17th century. These remain include a quatrefoil detail at first floor level, a section of a buttress on the southwest angle, and a blocked Early English doorway on the south wall, situated within the gate of Church House. The building is designated as a building of group value because of its mediaeval remains. All listed buildings within Cathedral Close are considered as a group.
