Description

This is an anonymous chest tomb located approximately 2.5 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Mary. It likely dates from the late 17th century and is constructed from local stone rubble, topped with a Beerstone ashlar lid. The tomb has a rectangular shape, and its flat lid features a hollow-chamfered soffit. The plinth is buried, and there was likely an inscription on the lid, but it has worn away over time.
