Description
Jocelyn Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered cob on stone rubble footings, with stone rubble stacks and plastered chimneyshafts, topped by a thatch roof. The cottage has a small two-room plan and faces south. The eastern room has a stack that is probably a later addition, and the central entrance hall appears to have been created at the expense of the western room, which retains an original end stack. The building is two storeys high.
The exterior features a nearly symmetrical front with three windows, which are modern casements designed to resemble diamond-pane leaded glass. The central doorway has a contemporary plank door beneath a flat hood. The roof is gable-ended on the left side and hipped on the right. Inside, the cottage has plain carpentry, although the roof has not been inspected.
