Description

The Carter chest tomb, located approximately 2 meters south of the porch of the Church of St Winifred, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1699 in memory of John Carter. It is made of Beerstone ashlar and features plain sides with a soffit-moulded flat lid. The base is likely buried. The north side of the tomb is inscribed in neat Roman serif capitals, commemorating the death of John Carter in 1699.
