Description
The Sarel chest tomb, located approximately 1.5 metres south-east of the chancel of the Church of St. Gregory, is a rectangular chest tomb dated 1821, commemorating Richard and Elizabeth Sarel. The tomb features a flat lid with moulded edges and a plinth with a similar moulding. The corners are adorned with bead-moulding and are flanked by vertical bead-moulded strips. Each side of the tomb includes a panel defined by bead mouldings. The south side is inscribed, noting the death of Richard Sarel in 1816 and his wife Elizabeth in 1821.
