Description

This is a late 18th-century building, originally known as Monkton House, of three storeys and stucco construction. It features a parapet above a cornice. The building has five sash windows with exposed frames on the first and second floors, and a band separates the second floor. A single-window wing is set back on the left, featuring a two-panel door and a radial bar fanlight above. The ground floor has large plate glass windows, and the doorway has been altered, retaining an arched radial bar fanlight. The interior contains an "Adam" style mantel and other contemporary detailing. The building forms a group with numbers 35, 39, 41, 49 to 57 (odd), and 61.
