Description
49 and 51 High Street are early 18th century buildings located on the north side of High Street. No 49 is two storeys with an attic, featuring stucco that is lined and painted, and has rusticated quoins. It includes two casement dormers and two sash windows on the first floor with exposed frames, now with only central glazing bars. The central entrance has a six-panel door topped by a flat hood supported on brackets. The building has a plinth and a slate roof. There is a small shop window on the right, with deeds dating from around 1725. No 51 is likely also early 18th century, two storeys high, and has two flush frame sash windows on each floor with glazing bars. It features a central six-panel door with a flat hood, an eaves board, a slate roof, and rusticated quoins. Nos 35, 39, 41, 49 to 57 (odd), and 61 form a group.
