Description

Plympton House is an 18th-century, two-storey building located on the north side of High Street, numbered 59. It features stippled rendering and has five sash windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes three flush frame sash windows with glazing bars and flush frame double doors to the west side, which are positioned to the left. The entrance is highlighted by a good open-pediment doorcase and an arched radial-bar fanlight. The building has a plinth and a slate roof. Plympton House is part of a group with Nos 35, 39, 41, and Nos 49 to 57 (odd), as well as Nos 73 to 91 (odd), 91A, and 93 to 101 (odd), which together with Allhallows' Chapel (now a museum) form another group.
