Description

The Harry headstone, located approximately 10 metres south-south-east of the vestry of the Church of St Mary, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1701 in memory of Robert Harry. This headstone is made of limestone and features an upright square-headed slab that stands about 900mm tall. The top of the inscription is adorned with a carved skull and is surrounded by decorative scrollwork in a calligraphic style. The inscription itself uses Roman serif lettering in both upper and lower case to commemorate the death of Robert Harry in 1701.
