Description

Havencliffe is an early 19th-century stuccoed Gothic house situated on a hillside overlooking the mouth of the River Axe. The house has a slate roof and is two storeys high with three bays. It features two gables to the left, with coping and finials, and a single-storey section on the right with an embattled parapet. The windows are predominantly pointed arch sashes with intersecting glazing bars; ground floor windows are casements, and those on the right have flat heads. A verandah extends across the front of the house and along the left-hand return, supported by thin iron posts and featuring a tented roof. Wings extend to the rear, incorporating a small tower with battlements, lancet windows, and a clock face. Tall stuccoed chimney stacks are also present.
