Description

Graveney House is an early 19th century house, reportedly dating to 1806, that has been converted into flats. It was altered in the 20th century. The exterior is stuccoed, with some areas now roughcast, and a hidden roof behind a parapet. Rendered chimney stacks are visible. The symmetrical, three-window east-facing front has angle pilasters and a rebuilt parapet. It features 12-pane sash windows and a central doorway with a round arch, panelled reveals, a semi-circular fanlight with radiating bars, and a panelled door. A large porch with pairs of piers is present, although the iron balustrade has been removed. The left (southwest) return elevation has a 1:2:1 window arrangement, with the central two windows in a semi-circular bay. The northwest elevation displays a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows. The northeast side has various 20th century windows. The interior has been converted into flats and significantly altered, although one ground floor room and another on the first floor remain intact, along with some original 19th century joinery. The staircase has been replaced.
