Description
Manor House is a detached house, likely once a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century or earlier, and has been significantly remodeled. It features roughcast cob with stone footings and some brick, topped with a thatched gabled end roof. Originally, it probably had a three-room, through-passage layout. The service end, located to the right, is heated by an external end stack made partly of cob, which has three set-offs and a brick shaft. The hall's rear lateral stack and the adjacent stair turret were originally external but are now enclosed within a large rear wing, likely added in the 18th or 19th century. The inner room remains unheated. The house is two storeys tall.
On the front, there is a three-window range featuring 12-pane hornless sash windows on the first floor, with lintels at eaves level. There are coupled 12-pane hornless sash windows on either side of the porch, each with brick hood moulds. The porch is simple and open, with a half-glazed door. At the rear, there is a three-light gabled dormer window, along with 19th and 20th-century casement windows of two and three lights, and similar 19th-century windows on the left-hand end elevations.
