Description

Danes Mill Bridge is a road bridge that spans the River Tale. It dates from the 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed from local stone rubble, with squared blocks used for the voussoirs and 20th-century concrete coping. The bridge features two spans with small elliptical arches that spring from low vertical abutments. The central pier is equipped with low pointed cutwaters. The sides of the bridge rise to the parapet without a string course, and the parapet has rounded coping that ramps down at each end. On the upstream side, the parapet turns outward. This bridge is also listed in Payhembury.
