Description

This is an anonymous chest tomb located approximately 2 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Winifred. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and is made of Beerstone ashlar. The tomb features a moulded base and a soffit-moulded lid with a low pitched ridge. The sides are plain, adorned with a shallow moulded frieze. Both long sides have central full height plaques that are slightly raised from the south front. The tomb is completely uninscribed.
