Description

This is a chest tomb located approximately 3.5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St John. It likely dates from the 18th century and is made of volcanic ashlar. The tomb is low and plain, with a rectangular shape and plain sides resting on a chamfered plinth. The flat lid of the tomb features a soffit-chamfered design and is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, although the inscription is so worn that it has become illegible.
