Description
This building is a barn and stables located approximately 4 metres north-west of Borcombe Farmhouse, dating from around 1850. It is constructed from local stone and flint rubble, with some brick dressings, and features a slate roof. The barn and stables are part of the same structure, facing east. The stables are situated at the left (south) end and have two front doorways, each accompanied by a small window to the left. Above the right stable doorway, there is a hayloft loading hatch, with a window to its left. The barn on the right has full-height opposing double doors that open onto the threshing floors. Most of the joinery details of the doors and windows are original. The roof is gable-ended. This barn, along with Borcombe Farmhouse and the Cowhouse, forms a cohesive farm group in an attractive setting.
