Description
The front garden boundary wall and gateway immediately east of Bovey House date from the 16th or 17th century. The west front wall is made of ashlar and features a central moulded round arched gateway topped with lions and shields. The south side of the forecourt garden has a flint rubble wall, while the north side has an ashlar wall that includes a modern summerhouse with two stone statues. In the north-east corner, there is a lead cistern dated 1674 with the initials ATS. At the center of the forecourt, a sundial dated 1630 is mounted on a low stone pedestal.
