Description

Hayne Farm House is a former farmhouse dating to around the 16th and 17th centuries. It is constructed of stone rubble with a thatched roof featuring gabled ends. The house has two storeys and a long, five-window front. It has 19th-century three-light casement windows with glazing bars. Modern glazed doors are located to the left, centre, and right-hand end of the building. Brick chimney stacks are situated on the ridge and at the ends of the house. A rear wing has a half-hipped thatched roof. A lean-to extends from the rear and the south-west end of the main building. Inside, the house features stopped-chamfer ceiling beams and a bressumer over open fireplaces. Group value is evident due to the building’s contribution to the area’s architectural heritage.
