Description

The Leigh chest tomb, dated 1714, is located adjacent to the south side of the chancel of the Church of St Winifred in Branscombe. This chest tomb is made of Beerstone ashlar and features plain sides, a hollow-chamfered base, and a flat lid. The south side is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, which commemorates the death of Mary Leigh along with an epitaph.
