Description

This is a cartshed located approximately 15 metres west of Scorlinch Farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of red cob on stone rubble footings and features a thatched roof. The building has a simple, square plan and is open-fronted on the west side. The roof is tall, steeply-pitched, and hipped at both ends. The left (northern) side of the full-width doorway has been patched with brick. Inside, the roof is supported by 19th-century king post trusses. This structure is a rare example of a traditional Devon farm building that retains its thatched roof.
