Description
The Bayly monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 8 meters north of the Wastfield monument and north of the north transept of the Church of St. Bartholomew. This monument dates from the mid to later 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features two octagonal plaques on the north side, separated by a foliate strip, and has fluted angle piers. The south side is plain, while the east end displays a shield. The tomb is topped with a moulded capstone and bears an inscription dedicated to T. Bayly of Pickwick.
