Description

The Brown Monument is a chest tomb located about 32 metres west of the Church of St. Laurence in Downton. It is likely from the early 19th century and is made of limestone in a Gothic style. The tomb features a plinth and rectangular panels on the main sides, adorned with ogee traceried and cusped panels on either side. It has a moulded flat top, but the inscription is illegible.
