Description

Two houses, now shops, were built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The left-hand side of the building is roughcast with a stone-tiled roof, a coped north gable, and a north-end stack. It has two storeys, with a small 19th-century sash window on the upper floor and a large, early 19th-century 6-18-6 pane sash window on the right. On the ground floor, a circular window with a cornice is located to the left of a 19th-century double-fronted shop front. The right-hand side appears to be from the mid-18th century and features an ashlar front with a Bridgwater tile roof and a central ridge stack. It is three storeys high, with a two-window range, angle quoin pilasters, a plinth, two horizontal string courses, and moulded eaves, with the string courses projecting forward over the pilasters. The windows are set in raised bead-moulded surrounds with 19th-century glazing; the upper windows have two panes each, while the first floor has paired plate glass sashes, and the ground floor right also has a paired plate glass sash. The ground floor left includes a 19th-century shop front with a six-panel door on the right. A brick two-storey extension is located behind the main building, and a hipped stair tower is to the right.
