Description
The churchyard walls surrounding the Cathedral lawn date from around the 17th century and are listed as a group value context. The south section runs from the east end of the Cathedral to the Lodge at the north entrance of the Cathedral School. This section is approximately 5 to 6 feet high and constructed of stone rubble with roughly dressed stone and moulded stone coping. The walls on the east, north, and west sides, which return to the cloisters on the south, are lower, standing at about 3 to 4 feet. These walls are made of old stone rubble with shaped coping, and there is some brickwork, particularly in the northern stretch.
