Description

The Blind House is an early 18th-century lock-up located on the north side of High Street. It has a square plan topped with an octagonal stone dome and a ball finial, along with a baluster-shaped stone chimney at the northeast corner. The building features a raised plinth and a moulded stone cornice. The centre of the façade slightly projects forward and includes an arched doorway with a studded plank door. Above the doorway is a pointed north window with a square opening. To the right, there is a short length of ashlar wall that has coping ramped down to a pier with a moulded cornice and a rounded cap.
