Description
A pair of houses at 32 and 34 West Street, dating from the early to mid-19th century, and now combined into a single property. The construction is of coursed limestone rubble, with brick gable stacks and a stone slate roof. The houses are arranged with a double-depth plan over two storeys and an attic. They have a four-window front. Features include irregular quoins, dressings above the window and door openings with linked imposts, and doorways with inner surrounds. A late 19th-century casement window has been inserted on the left side, while the right-hand doorway has a boarded door. A gabled dormer window was added in the 20th century on the left. A late 20th-century extension is on the rear right, with a new entrance. The interior was not inspected. Despite later alterations, the buildings are listed for their contribution to the group of listed buildings along West Street.
