Description

This is a lodge, dating to 1856 and built for Joseph Everett. It is constructed of rubble stone and limestone ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof and an ashlar stack. The lodge is single-storied and features a Tuscan distyle in antis portico facing the drive towards Sutton Veny House. The portico contains a four-panelled door, with a twelve-pane sash window in a moulded architrave on either side. The lodge has rusticated, chamfered quoins, and a pediment displaying the Everett family crest and the date 1856.

The left return boasts two twelve-pane sash windows in moulded architraves, along with a two-light casement window in a flat-headed dormer. The right return features a single-story wing with two sash windows. The rear gable includes a blind lunette within the pediment, and an attached lean-to extension is also present.

Attached to the right of the lodge are ashlar dwarf walls with cast-iron spearhead railings leading to three square ashlar gate piers topped with ball finials. These piers support spearhead double gates. The design is very similar to a contemporary lodge on Bishopstrow Road.
