Description
No 8 is a detached cottage dating from around 1700. It is built from rubble stone with a tiled roof and has gable end brick stacks. The cottage faces the road and is two stories high with two windows. The central entrance features a planked door set within a moulded wooden case, adorned with paterae, and is sheltered by a trellised hipped tiled porch. On either side of the door, there are two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements, along with a 1-light recessed chamfered light to the right. The first floor has two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements. The left side of the building has 20th-century casements and displays some attractive chequered stonework at the base of the wall. At the rear, there is an outshut to the right, along with a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement and a 2-light casement to the left. The interior was not accessible during the survey in July 1985.
