GV II

Chest tomb. Late C17. Limestone. Narrow rectangular plan. A large flat slab to the top has a scroll frieze below the entablature, and articulated by Tuscan half-columns to each elevation; the long sides also have a central pilaster articulating wide shields with worn cherubs' heads in the lower corners of the panels. The narrow ends have a skull and crossbones to the south-facing panel and a skull over a worn cartouche to the north. An interesting classical design.
