Description

The Bleeke monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, one meter west of the west end of the Church of St. James. It dates from the 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb is tall and features a moulded and casket top, along with raised pilasters adorned with chains of flowers. An inscription is set within a garland, with putti above it. The tomb has a moulded base and panelled ends, with the north side also displaying similar detailing. It commemorates John Bleeke, who died on the 17th, though the exact date is unclear.
