Description
Marston Meysey Manor House is a farmhouse built in 1689, with later 18th-century additions. It features limestone rubble construction and a stone slate roof. The building has three storeys, with a central stair hall and flanking reception rooms. To the left, there is an extended wing that has been significantly remodeled in the 20th century, along with a further hipped extension to the left of this wing. The 18th-century gabled porch has an eared architrave, and there is a stone sundial above it. The windows are three-light ovolo stone-mullioned with label moulds, while the second floor has two-light windows in the gables over bays one and three. The wing also includes parts from the 17th century, featuring a lean-to secondary entrance at the front of later date and an extension to the rear. The main block has gable stacks with diagonal shafts, and there is a mounting block against the wing. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase and stone fireplaces in the drawing and dining rooms, along with deep chamfered cross beams in the front room of the wing.
