Description
The outbuilding to the east of The Mount House is a former house dating from the 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and red brick, resting on a rubble stone base, and features a stone slate roof that is half-hipped to the south. The structure is square framed with angle braces and consists of three bays. On the east side, there are two small leaded windows and a door below, along with one unglazed window above. The north end displays exposed framing, including a tie-beam and collar truss, while the south end has a rubble stone addition. The west side has mostly been rebuilt with imitation framing. Inside, the building has a three-bay roof supported by two pairs of wind braces on the east side, and the floor spans across two bays with large chamfered and stopped beams.
