Description
No 25 on High Street is a three-storey building dated 1776, as indicated by the rainwater pipes at the outer corners. It features a refronting of an older structure and is constructed of vitreous brick with red brick window surrounds. The façade includes flush bands of alternating red and grey brick courses, each consisting of three courses, positioned over the first and second floor windows. The building has a moulded coping along the parapet and an old tile roof with hipped projections over each bay front. The upper floors are adorned with four segmental-headed three-light windows, with no glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor presents a sequence of openings that includes a small 19th-century shop front on the left, a yard entry, a four-panel door, and a larger 19th-century shop front featuring projecting angular bays and a central door. All ground floor openings are flanked by narrow pilasters, topped with a small cornice that runs across the front of the building.
