Description

The gate piers and gates to Eastwell House were built in the early 19th century. They consist of two ashlar corniced piers that feature raised panels on both the front and back, topped with rounded finials. The pair of iron gates includes large arrow rails. The finials are said to resemble cottage loaves, and the entire design is thought to play on the family name, Hunt-Grubbe.
