Description
The Lodge is a cottage that later served as a lodge to Conock Manor. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some early 19th-century alterations. The building is timber framed with colourwashed brick noggings and sits on a replaced brick sill, topped with a thatched roof. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, consisting of two bays and an additional single-storey extension from the early 19th century on the left side. The framing features three panels high with straight corner braces.
The entrance is centrally located to the left, leading into a heated bay. It has a boarded door with triple arched lights set within a wide timber lattice porch that has a swept metal-clad roof. To the right bay, there is a small bay window. The thatch extends over two flush dormers, each containing two 2-centred lights with leaded glazing. The thatch is hipped to the right side. There is a central stack and an external stack to the left, positioned before the brick extension, which features a 'Y' tracery window and a half hipped roof. At the rear, there is a single large flush dormer, along with outbuildings that are set at right angles to the main structure.
