Description
This is a terrace of five houses, now four, located on Horsefair in Malmesbury. They were built in the late 17th century and underwent alterations during the late 20th century restoration. The houses are constructed of coursed limestone, which was previously limewashed, and feature ridge and gable stacks with a slate roof. Each house has a single-room plan, is a single storey with an attic, and has a one-window range. The gables are wide, with full-width gables on the three narrower left-hand houses. The right-hand doors are located on the right side, with the left-hand door leading to No. 38, while No. 30 has a blocked door. The doors have been replaced with 20th-century versions, and there are timber lintels above the 20th-century casements. No. 38 has a one-window former house attached to the rear. The gables were raised by approximately five courses during the restoration. The interior has been extensively altered in the late 20th century and is reported to have chamfered ceiling beams.
