Description
This is a terrace of six houses, now five, built in the early 19th century and significantly refurbished around 1980. Constructed from limestone rubble with brick ridge stacks and an artificial slate roof. Each house is two storeys high and originally had a one-window front, although number 4 now has segmental-arched heads to paired doorways with recessed, late 20th-century half-glazed doors and ground-floor windows; houses 6 and 8 have flat-headed first-floor windows set beneath the eaves. Numbers 10 and 12 have circa 1980 gabled half dormers, all with late 20th-century casement windows. Number 4 has a blocked doorway, while houses 6 and 8 have rough quoins on the left side. Number 8 incorporates a medieval carved stone featuring an inverted face, re-used as a keystone. The interior has not been inspected. Originally, this terrace was listed together with numbers 2 and 14, but numbers 2 and 14 were removed from the list after their original dressings and fittings were lost. Number 4 was previously a pair of cottages and is now part of a single dwelling.
