Description
Nos 62 and 64 are a barn from the early 18th century that was converted into cottages in the 19th century and altered around 1975. The building is constructed of rubble stone and has a roof covered with plain concrete tiles. It features a main range with a coped north gable and an end wall stack, a half-hipped south gable, and a ridge stack. The structure is two storeys high with an attic.
On the east side, there are two small dormers and two early 19th-century 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, with a 20th-century window below, all located in an area where a cart entry has been infilled. There is a 20th-century window to the right on the ground floor. The south end has a large 12-pane sash window on the first floor and two 15-pane sash windows on the ground floor. A door is situated in the end of a lean-to on the west wall. The west wall features a gabled central projection, which was the former cart entry, with a late 19th-century two-light mullion window in the gable and a ground floor recessed arched doorway with a traceried fanlight, possibly from the early 19th century. There is a lean-to to the right and to the left, a range of 20-pane sash windows.
Across the north end is a slightly lower range, which may be older based on the placement of the cornerstones at the southwest angle. This range has coped gables to the west and east, with 20th-century windows to the north, and a first-floor Tudor-arched opening over a 20th-century door on the east end. There is also a wash-house addition to the right.
