Description
The Bewley Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 10 metres north of the tower of the Church of St Martin in Bremhill. It dates from around 1830 and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features baluster angles, a plinth, a moulded base, and a heavy cornice with a reeded edge. The panelled frieze is adorned with rosettes, and it has a high stepped humped cap. On the south side, there are two plaques with incised borders and rebated angles. The monument bears an inscription commemorating Mary Bewley, who died in 1826.
