Description
The Post Office, located on the north side of High Street in Sherston, consists of two houses built in the 18th century with some alterations made in the 19th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble and feature flush rusticated dressed stone quoins. They have wooden lintels, although some are made of concrete painted to look like wood, and a gabled stone slate roof with stone stacks at each end.
Both houses are two storeys high and have two windows each, which are 4-pane sashes. The entrance to No 3 is a central plank door situated under a gabled open porch, while No 1 has a lean-to porch with a shop window and a part-glazed door. These houses are positioned on an important site at the north end of the market place.
