Description

No. 40 Pickwick is a house from the early 18th century, constructed of coursed rubble stone and topped with a stone tiled roof. It features coped gables and a west end stack. The building has two and a half storeys and one window range. Notable architectural details include flush quoins, a dormer gable, and raised courses above the ground and first floors. The windows are flush cyma-moulded mullions, with two-light windows in the gable and three-light windows on the first and ground floors. To the left, there is a fielded-panel door set in a moulded flush surround, topped with an ornate scrolled pediment hood supported by carved brackets.
