Description

Alma Place comprises a range of ten terraced houses dating to the 18th century. The houses are constructed of chequer brick, with some areas colour-washed. They have pitched roofs covered in old tiles and brick stacks. Each house originally had a range of cased sash windows with glazing bars, although numbers 1, 3 and 8 now have modern casements. Number 1 has a ground-floor casement window. Most of the houses have a single planked door, with number 2 featuring a four-panelled door, and numbers 1, 4, 7 and 8 having modern doors. Later porches have been added to numbers 2, 3, 4, 8 and 9. The listed buildings at Alma Place are considered to form a notable group.
