Description

HULLAVINGTON THE STREET ST 88 SE (west side) 5/46 Group of 4 Monuments in the churchyard 1-5m south-west of porch, Church of St Mary GV II

Four Chest tombs. Late C18. Limestone. a) Unidentified. Floral angle pilasters, raised and fielded panels to either side framed by floral drops. Complex moulded cornice and cyma recta moulded slab. b) Unidentified. Floral angle pilasters, raised and fielded panel to north side, oval panel to south. Complex moulded cornice and cyma recta moulded slab. c) Stephens family. Angle balusters, raised and fielded panelled pilasters and raised and fielded north inscription panel with incised lettering. South panel blank framed with rocaille decoration. Moulded plinth and cornice, cyma recta moulded slab. Side panels collapsing at time of resurvey (May 1986). d) Unidentified with angle balusters, floral sprays framing inscription panels, that to south with egg and dart moulding. Moulded plinth, fluted frieze and cyma recta moulded slab.
