Description

This is an early 19th-century shop with a flat above, located on the north side of High Street in Amesbury. The building is constructed of Flemish brick with a slate roof. It is two storeys high and comprises three bays. The left bay features a 20th-century door set within an original rendered doorcase, which incorporates an entablature. The other bays contain sixteen-paned sash windows, each with a gauged brick lintel. A rendered band runs along the top of the building, topped by a cornice that forms coped gables on the ends. Chimneys are situated on the gable ends. A projecting shopfront covering bays 2 and 3 is not considered to be of particular architectural interest.
