Description
This is a cottage located at the end of a row, dating to around 1700. It is built of random rubble stone with a stone slate roof, featuring a coped verge on the right side. The cottage is two storeys high with an attic, and originally had three windows. A planked door is centrally positioned within a beaded architrave, topped with a flat stone hood supported by brackets. Two 2-light UPVC windows have been added on either side of the door. A moulded string course runs along the building. The first floor features a central 2-light cyma-mullioned casement, flanked by 3-light mullioned casements. The full gabled attic has a 2-light mullioned casement with a dripstone. The right return side includes a 2-light mullioned casement to the attic and a blocked mullioned casement to the first floor. A 19th-century rubble stone addition, with a 16-pane sash window, has been added on the ground floor. The rear of the cottage is partially obscured by an extension to the adjacent property, number 70. The interior is said to contain an open fireplace, winding stairs, and planked doors.
